Ms. Jackie Fraser – Wist – Westminster international school in Tashkent

Ms. Jackie Fraser

Jackie is a fully qualified primary and preschool teacher from New Zealand. With many years’ teaching in New Zealand, Australia and Asia, Jackie has experienced a surplus amount of educational styles, such as Montessori, Steiner, as well as ESL teaching. Holistic education that embraces the whole child with a learn through play ethos is at the centre of her philosophy. This emphasises respect for the child, their voice and enabling them to care for themselves, others, and the environment. During 1931, Jackie’s hometown of Napier was destroyed by a devastating earthquake similar to the disaster of 1966 in Tashkent. Her Grandmother was rescued under piles of rubble while waitressing as a teenager in a local café. Jackie has always been fascinated with the history of the Silk Road for as long as she can remember. She is keen to learn about the people, local cuisine, music and textiles while looking forward to visiting the beautiful historical cities of Khiva and Samarkand. Jackie will be teaching in the reception class and is looking forward to welcoming all children and families to Westminster International School of Tashkent.
